Handicap Wheelchair Lift

When you are faced with the problem of getting a wheelchair plus the user from one level to another, you might want to consider a through floor lift.

As a handicap wheelchair lift this could be a good option because it only takes up little more space than the actual wheelchair itself.

It has the benefit of not tying up the staircase in the home for the rest of the family while the wheelchair user is taken from one level to another with no problem whatsoever with complete ease and security.

The wheelchair is completely closed in on all four sides for travelling so there will not be any feeling of insecurity. Many people prefer this method of being transported upstairs or downstairs.

Controls will be situated on both floors as well as inside of the lift. The lift can be sent back upstairs when a person has come down, so that it will not take up any room, plus it would be out of sight although it has to be said it is in no way unsightly.

Likewise, when the user had used it for the last time at night it could be sent back downstairs for overnight, thus not taking up any extra space in the bedroom.

The through floor handicap wheelchair lift will run on the home power supply and will be supplied with a battery backup so that if there chanced to be a power cut there would be no danger of being stranded mid-ride.

There is an integral ramp for ease of use when entering and leaving the lift. Plus there is a powered door to also make for an easy entrance and exit for the passenger.

There are optional extras for this type of through floor handicap wheelchair lift such as a telephone within the car, you can have a choice of trim colors on the car to match your home decor. You also can have a choice of different sizes.

To install one of this type of lift will only take around a couple of days and I believe they do not need a load bearing wall because they are free standing. This also means that it gives a greater choice of location for the lift.

This type of through floor lift is quite suitable for someone who is not in a wheelchair, it will be fitted with a seat inside but in most other aspects is the same as the wheelchair version. It will be a little smaller of course, not carrying a wheelchair.

It has to be said that this type of lift is not suitable for having a carer standing inside alongside the disabled person. It is possible to have as an optional extra, multi-purpose seats fitted into the car.
This seems to me a very good alternative to a handicap stair chair lift although these are exceptionally good and they do not need any structural work to install them.
